Some more updates.
Miho Fujii will appear in Ballet Asteras 2012 with Yannick Bittencourt and Grégory Dominiak in Tokyo on 22 July. They will dance Black Swan pas de trois from Noureev's Swan Lake.
Ballet Asteras is a gala for the dancers who are working abroad. It is commissioned by the Agency for Cultural Affairs and held by the Young Artists Training Programme of the New National Theatre, Tokyo. It has been held once a year since 2009 except for the last year which was cancelled in consequence of the Great East Japan Eearthquake (and tsunami) and the electricity shortage. Some dancers from the New National Ballet of Japan and the students the Young Artists Training Programme appear, and also the students of the San Francisco Ballet School will join as a special appearance this year.

According to NBS's announcement, Sergei Polunin is not coming to Japan for the World Ballet Festival in Tokyo this summer. However, the good news is that Steven McRae will be joining, instead, all the programmes and he will open the festival with Tamara Rojo in Don Quixote on 29 July. The rest of the programmes are to be announced.
There're some more new casts for the festival. Elisabet Ros, Kateryna Shalkina and Oscar Chacon will also appear from Béjart Ballet Lausanne, as well as Gil Roman. The programmes are already announced by NBS:
<Programme A>
Brel et Barbara (Béjart / Brel, Barbara)
Elisabet Ros, Gil Roman
<Programme B>
Le Parsifal (Béjart / Wagner) (from La Mort Subite (?))
Kateryna Shalkina, Oscar Chacon
<Gala>
L'Amour et la mort (Béjart / Mahler) (from La Mort du Tambour (?))
Kateryna Shalkina, Oscar Chacon

New National Theatre, Tokyo announced the new Artistic Directors from 2014/2015 season. As for Ballet & Dance, Noriko OHARA is to be appointed as Artistic Director for four years effective on 1 Septembre 2014. This means David Bintley, current AD, will step down at the end of August 2014. Since National Ballet of Japan is in good form now, Bintley's stepping down is kind of a little disappointing news. They have two more years, though. Maybe being two companies' AD at the same time in England and Japan is too hard...
