Né ŕ Budapest en 1929, Laszlo Seregi voulait d'abord devenir dessinateur, mais il a abandonné cette voie et commencé ŕ danser en 1949. Il a étudié la danse traditionnelle avec Iván Szabó et la danse classique avec Marcella Nádasi. |

| The Hungarian National Ballet will be performing Romeo and Juliet on June 21, 22, 23 and 24 .The choreography is by Lászlo Seregi who has died on May 11 at the age of 82.

Alexandra Kozmér and Bence Apáti represented the Hungarian National Ballet at the gala evening of the 5th International Dance Festival in Pécs, which took place on September 29 and was dedicated to the recently deceased choreographer László Seregi. The two dancers were performing the Cedar and the Spartacus pas de deux (both works by Seregi).
The greetings of ballet director Tamás Solymosi, who was kept in Budapest by the season opening of the Hunyadi László premičre (by Ferenc Erkel) were delivered by the moderator.
In addition, a 3 minute film edited by László Schnitzler was played in remembrance of the great Hungarian choreographer.

There will be new settings and costumes for this production of Onegin. The setting and costumes have been designed by Thomas Mika about whom I don't know much. The only thing I have heard is that the costumes he had created for John Cranko's Romeo and Juliet in Berlin were rather disappointing. Several Viennese ballet fans who love travelling to Berlin since Vladimir Malakhov became director of the company told me that some of the costumes looked a little weird. For example, they said that Friar Laurence looked more like the pope than a monk in his white costume and that they didn't like Benvolio in pink either...
