The first Seregi Award went to young Hungarian choreographer (demi-soloist with the Vienna State Ballet) András Lukács. His creation Whirling will be performed within "Five Dances" at the Erkel theatre in Budapest in May and June.

The premières of the Hungarian National Ballet's 2013/14 season have been announced:

October 26, The Golden Brush, a full length Hungarian Ballet by Lilla Pártay (music by Liszt, Wagner, Berlioz)

February 22, The Merry Widow (choreography by Hynd, music by Lehár)

March 22, Modern Ballet (details to be announced)

May 3, Troy Games/ La Sylphide (details to be announced)

The Hungarian National Ballet will be showing Leonid Lavrovskij's version of Giselle from September 22 until October 11.
Alexandra Kozmér, Aleszja Popova and Aliya Tanykpayeva are cast in the title role .
Albrecht will be danced by Gergely Leblanc, Máté Bakó and István Simon.

Karina Sarkissova, former soloist with the Vienna State Ballet, has been promoted to the rank of Principal Dancer of the Hungarian National Ballet.
