Great news!
On November 5th or 6th 2016, the Russian State and the Vaganova Academy invited musicologist Livia BRILLARELLI, as well as the head of the Civitanova Marche Library Marco Pipponzi and the head of the Biblioteca Moretti, Enrica Bruui, to a celebration at the Hermitage Museum marking the appearance of a new book on Enrico CECCHETTI by a Russian team, headed by former San Carlo dancer Riccardo Riccardi.
This may be the first indication of a concern for CECCHETTI's Method in Russia, since Agrippina's death in 1951 or 52.
Livia Brillarelli was the guest of honour, having spent the last thirty years putting Civitanova Marche back on the map with the travelling Cecchetti exhibition, the Cecchetti collection at the library, and the publication of Quaderni Cecchettiani (dance-scores and commentary).
The Civitanovalive.it article says that the book will now be published all over the world. As the authors are, I believe, mainly pedagogues and scholars of the Vaganova Academy, the book will doubtless include valuable technical studies. Stay tuned to this news service!
