Mikhailovsky Ballet est maintenant en tournée au Japon. Cette tournée se poursuit jusqu'à 17 janvier 2011.

Evguénia Obraztsova a été prévue à l'invité dans Don Quichotte aux côtés de Farouk Ruzimatov, les 6 et 7 janvier 2011 à Tokyo, mais malheureusement elle doit se retirer pour cause de blessure. Il semble Victoria Tereshkina qui la remplacera.

American Ballet Theatre will tour Japan in July 2011 with Don Quixote, Romeo & Juliet, two galas and a special performance of Don Quixote. Ethan Stiefel is scheduled to dance in Don Q with Gillian Murphy. Natalia Osipova is to guest in R&J, partnered by David Hallberg. And this tour would be adieux to ABT for Jose Manuel Carreño.

Erwan Le Roux and Aurélian Houette were recently staying in Tokyo to give a performance of Bruno Buché's Bless – ainsi soit-IL at a bellet concert held at Fuchu, Tokyo. Fortunately I could attend this performance Sunday 9 January. This Bless was also presented in Danseurs Chorégraphes at Bastille last week and, as many of you liked it, I liked it a lot. I hadn't known the concept or subject of this piece at that time, but I could catch the image of "human" in Erwan Le Roux and Arc Angel in Aurélian Houette, who I realized is very good. As Haydn wrote, the fight between Arc Angel and human lasts forever and it ends only with death. Beautiful music (Bach), well-constructed choreography, impressive interpretation, an excellent piece, indeed.

Berlin State Ballet has been touring Japan with Malakhov's Cinderella, Eifman's Tchaikovsky and a gala since two weeks ago. Tokyo is already done last week and this weekend they do Tchaikovsky in Kobe on Saturday, Cinderella in Otsu on Sunday. I attended those two programs in Tokyo. Cinderella was nice. Polina Semionova (Cinderella) was charming. But I thought this production, including choreography, was sort of a bit too light and thin. On the other hand, Tchaikovsky was so great! I think it fits the current Berlin State Ballet. This ballet tells about something like Tchaikovsky's inner conflict or distress, which come from his ruined marriage, financial difficulties and also his leaning - Eifman says in the program note that Tchaikovsky was a very complicated person. So, the story is really depressive, but this ballet is very powerful with the music of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No.5 and No.6. The title role was danced by Vladimir Malakhov. As if it was created for him, he was amazing. Also the dancers in the supporting roles, Wieslaw Dudek (Alter Ego), Nadja Saidakova (Tchaikovsky's wife) and Beatrice Knop (Baroness von Meck), thier interpretation and performance were superb. The ballet was filled with heavy and intense atomosphere, but when the white swans appeared on the stage, the scene was so tranquil and so beautiful. Tchaikovsky found his salvation in his creations - the White Swans.

Dans le dernier numéro de Dance Magazine de Shinshokan, il ya l'interview avec José Martinez par Gérard Mannoni. Martinez dit clairement que, comme il va rester à l'Opéra de Paris la saison prochaine en tant que danseur invité, il ne fera pas ses adieux dans cette saison. Le contrat avec la Compañía Nacional de Danza de EspañaLe est de 5 ans. Il prendra le poste de directeur de la troup Septembre prochain.

En outre, il révèle que, en saison 2012-2013, l'Opéra de Paris fera la tournée au Japon avec Les Enfants du Paradis de Maritinez et l'Ecole de Danse représentra Scaramouche.

Here is the 2011-2012 season's lineup of the New National Theatre, Tokyo which is already announced on 14th January 2011. The next season will open with the new production The Prince of Pagodas by David Bintley, artistic director, which will be the co-production with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. As I attended the presentation of 2011-2012 season held on 22 January, Bintley mentioned that BRB will present The Prince of Pagodas in England in 2014 and also his produnction would be completely different from MacMillan's. One other note that Svetlana Zakharova will be back to NNTT in Swan Lake in May 2012 along with Andrei Uvarov.

As you see, there is no double bill or triple bill next season, Bintley admitted that. The Japanese government desided to cut the budget for performing arts drastically as part of their economic policies last year, which of course involves the New National Theatre, Tokyo. And that made Bintley consider more about ticket sells than artistic approach. He found that Japanese audience like full-length program more than one act ballet. That is why the next season lineup became like this, Bintley explained. However, he also said that he is now already working on the 2012-2013 season's program and thinking adding double or triple bills in the lineup. That's a relief.

- Martinez est prévue à danser dans trois programmes à l'Opéra de Paris en octobre, novembre 2011, février et mars 2012, la saison prochaine. (Les programmes ne sont pas indiqués.)

- Orphée et Eurydice de Pina Bausch sera présenté lors de la tournée américaine de l'Opéra de Paris 2012.

- Il révèle son idée pour la création prochaine, ce qui serait Historia de una escalera, une pièce écrite par Antonio Buero Vallejo.

Une pensée pour nos nombreux lecteurs japonais, qui vivent actuellement, en raison des caprices de la nature, des heures très difficiles dans leur pays.

J'ai eu des nouvelles de nos amies Mizuko - modératrice de la section japonaise de Dansomanie - et Aya, qui nous donnent régulièrement des informations sur le ballet au Pays du Soleil Levant. Elles sont heureusement saines et sauves, ainsi que leur familles. Mais qu'en est-il de tous les autres, qui fréquentent le site, je n'en sais malheureusement rien et j'espère qu'aucun péril ne les menace.
