"As you know the Mouse King makes his entrance amid much simulated smoke through a trap door.Sadly an over enthusiastic stage hand closed it too quickly trapping his tail.

As Ernst Meisner,presumably oblivious to this malfunction, moved forward, the tail began to stretch and eventually pulled out all the inside stuffing and we were left with yards and yards of ,for want of a better word, rope winding its way round the stage getting more and more entangled with the King and the Nutcracker.

"Finally Clara(Gemma Bond),the least likely person to rescue him,ripped the tail free from the trap. Some very tense moments for Meisner and Faruque who had to do a lot more jumping to avoid tripping and a great deal of quick thinking not to end up tied together during their battle.

"And they all lived happily ever after!"
