Beautiful picture
The season of cherry blossoms is right around the corner. They will bloom very soon in Tokyo.
And it's holiday in Japan but it's cold and raining all day.
Today is a Buddhist holiday, the middle day of "Higan." Traditionally families get together and visit their ancestor's grave to thank them. Well, it's holiday, nevertheless.
Here're the links for the viedos of Japanese TV news reports of Japan Tsumani Appeal Concert with Miyako Yoshida and her friends from the Royal Ballet, Yuhui Choe, Valeri Hiristov, Hikaru Kobayashi, Ryoichi Hirano, Kenta Kura, and Akane Takada, which was held at Linbury Studio, the Royal Opera House yesterday.

Cast changes of the Tokyo Ballet La Bayadère (Makarova).
http://www.nbs.or.jp/blog/news/contents/topmenu/post-310.html
Friedemann Vogel was not permitted to come to Japan by his company as they are concerning that the government of Germany has issued a warning against to travel to Japan. Matthew Golding of Dutch National Ballet replaces him and partners Mizuka Ueno. I think it's his debut in Japan. Maybe I will be sad that I cannot go to see him.
Leonid Sarafanov had to withdrawn due to injury, as you know. A good surprise that Igor Zelensky replaces him. He will partner Reiko Koide.
These cast changes are made by NBS and Natalia Makarova and Olga Evreyev.

Another strong earthquake occured just now (07/04/2011 23:32 JT). The center was Tohoku. It was strong in Tokyo, too. I hope there's not much damage there.
Anyway, NBS shares a message from Sylvie Guillem for Japan in Japanese and French:

I'm very very touched by their thoughts and what they did for Japan at TCE last night. Merci !

Tokyo Ballet La Bayadère (Makarova) will open tomorrow. There're some photos featuring two guests Igor Zelensky and Matthew Golding from rehearsals on Tokyo Ballet's blog.
http://www.thetokyoballet.com/blog/?id=393
Well, eastern Japan has been quite shaking today. Several rather strong earthquakes hit Tohoku, Kanto (where Tokyo is), Chuetu areas, which covers east half of Japan. I think the earth is still feeling uncomfortable with the placement of the ground and fixing it. I hope she considers about us living on the ground and does it gently and nicely.
Thanking for Zelensky and Golding, and Olga Evreyev, too!, for coming to Japan in this hard time, fingers crossed for the premiere of tomorrow ! Wish I could be there !

Sad news...
mizuko a écrit: |
Clairemarie Osta, Karl Paquette et Michaël Denard seront invités à Arima Ballet de Kyoto dans Coppélia de Lacotte à Biwako Hall, le 14 mai 2011. Osta interprétera Swanilda, Paquette, Franz, Denard, Coppélious. naturellement... |
Clairemarie Osta and Karl Paquette will not be able to come to Japan. l'Opéra National de Paris did not permit them because they are concerning about the warning against to travel to Japan issued by the government of France. (It's understandable, still sad, though. Biwako Hall is in Shiga prefecture, which is located "western" Japan. I think l'ONP remembers they has been there. ) But le Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse has decided to send their own two principals to Japan, Maria Gutierrez and Kazbek Akhmedyarov, to replace Osta and Paquette. Bravo !
