For health reasons, Roberto Bolle will be unable to dance the title part of John Neumeier’s "Orpheus" in the world premiere - December 6, 2009, 6 P.M. - and the following three December performances. Otto Bubenícek, who was also scheduled as Orpheus, will dance the title part at the premiere on December 6. In December, the other roles in "Orpheus" will be danced by Hélène Bouchet (Eurydice), Edvin Revazov (Apollo), Anna Laudere (Calliope) und Yohan Stegli (Hermes).

Roberto Bolle suffers from the consequences of an injury. At the moment, all possibilities are looked into as to when the étoile of the Milan Scala and principal of the American Ballet Theatre will be able to take on the role again. "The impairment and the pain have increased recently. Roberto has decided to suspend our cooperation for the time being and go into treatment. I sincerely regret this," says Neumeier. "He will not dance the premiere and the December performances, but will take over the part again as soon as his health allows it."
